Ingrid Kuribayashi | Soprano
Bermuda-born Japanese-American soprano, Ingrid Kuribayashi, earned a Master’s in voice with honors from the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi“ di Milano in 2023 and won first place in the opera division of the Premio del Conservatorio IX Edizione. In 2024 Kuribayashi returned to the USA to pursue a Specialist Degree in voice performance at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, under the instruction of Caitlin Lynch. While studying at the University of Michigan, Kuribayashi performed Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel followed by Despina in Così fan tutte.
Her Bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University, New Jersey, is a double major in French & Italian Language & Literature with an honors thesis on Renaissance and Enlightenment theater. Ingrid reaped innumerable benefits during 3 years study in Italy through master classes with José Carreras and Leone Magiera and polishing with Patrizia Ciofi and Umberto Finazzi.
While in Italy, she performed in venues such as Casa di Riposo Giuseppe Verdi and Palazzo Marino in Milan, Teatro Vittorio Alfieri in Asti, and Teatro Toselli in Cuneo. Kuribayashi won first place in NATS Great Lakes Region Upper Advanced division 2025 and Friends of Opera Competition, University of Michigan Graduate division 2024. Other roles that Kuribayashi has performed include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Adele in Die Fledermaus.
Kuribayashi is currently a studio artist at Florida Grand Opera where she performed the role of Ida and covered Adele in Die Fledermaus. In April, Kuribayashi will be performing Madame Silberklang in the studio's production of Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor. She will be heading to Ft. Worth in Novemeber to perform Adele in Die Fledermaus with Atchley Opera.
